All melodies and songs here, though debatable if and how traditional music exist at all as autonomous melodies prior to each performance, were taught to Kristin by ear as personal gifts from Dalarna Sweden. Most of them long time ago, a few ones from older relatives at really early age.
People one meets along the way do eventually inhabit these songs. As they move in, they give their footprint on melodies and performance style. Thereby is the distance between the traditional musician and the listener constantly challenged, and in moments of extreme concentration also dissolved.

Nathan and Kristin met at the Aberdeen folk world and the University of Aberdeen where Nathan studies composition and Kristin does a PhD on intonation, timbre and embodiment in singing. Our work and aesthetic process is through concerts, released recordings, workshops and conference presentations in constant cooperation with numerous musicians, artists, writers and scientists all over Europe as well as overseas.

These field recordings are the result of music meetings and discussions about traditional formulas and the room in general, and the human body as a room for perception and production more specifically. No arrangements ever exist prior to any of our performances. No one leads and no one follows. Everybody, as in every body, is active.
